Beginning Monday March 30, 2020 Minnesota Occupational Health (MOH) will be moving to shorter hours for the next five weeks.
Clinic Hours: Beginning Monday March 30th 2020 will be 7:00 am – 4:00 pm at all four clinic locations.
Available Clinics: If the Minnesota Governor orders “Shelter in Place” MOH will likely close one or more clinics so that we will have available providers, staff and supplies to continue providing vital services to essential workers during this time.
Alcohol Testing: Per interim guidelines, in an effort to minimize the COVID-19 exposure to our staff, MOH is discontinuing Breath Alcohol Testing. We will be using a QED Rapid Alcohol test which has DOT approval. In the event of a positive QED we will perform a follow-up lab-based saliva test for DOT collections and either a lab-based saliva or blood test (per your protocols) for Non-DOT collections.
Onsite Drug and Alcohol Collection Team: Effective immediately, the MOH Onsite team will only respond to post-accident and reasonable suspicion collection requests. All drug and alcohol testing will continue to be performed in our open clinics during our new interim hours of 7:30 – 4:00. Random and pre-employment collections will now only be available within the clinics.
Respirator Clearance – Spirometry: Spirometry (pulmonary functional testing) WILL NOT be performed as part of respirator medical clearance, in accordance with the guideline below from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Routine respirator clearance will be evaluated either through the respirator questionnaire, respirator physical examination and/or chest x-ray on a case-by-case basis. For further explanation, please refer to www.mohonline.com for daily updates.
Important Reminder: For the safety of our staff and patients, anyone with a temperature above 99.4 degrees (when not using medications) or respiratory symptoms will not be seen at MOH for any reason.
We value and appreciate your understanding and continued partnership! Thank you!
